Prez polls: Meeting of Opposition parties on 22nd June

Updates on the Prez Poll. The BJP's candidate for the President of India is Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind. 


Governor Kovind is 71 years old, a Dalit and has served as Bihar Governor for three years.


Former Prime Minister and Congress leader Manmohan Singh is among opposition leaders who have been informed of the government's choice, Amit Shah said.


PM Modi has spoken to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and TN CM E Palaniswamy.


Meeting of Opposition parties to be held on 22nd June


Venkaiah Naidu informed LK Advani and MM Joshi before the announcement of the name of Ramnath Kovind as the NDA presidential candidate.


Telangana CM and TRS Chief KC Rao extends his party's support for the BJP's presidential candidate. KCR said the PM called him personally and informed him of the party's choice for the prez polls and requested his support.
