Theresa May and Emmanuel Macron have agreed to launch an action plan to stop the internet being used as a safe space for terrorists.

The British PM has given a joint press conference with the French President in Paris before the pair go to watch England play France at football.

Macron confirmed they are developing polices which will see internet companies such as Facebook, YouTube and Google fined if they fail to remove extremist propaganda and terrorist material from their platforms.

The foreign trip will come as a welcome relief for May after the turmoil at home with no deal between the Tories and DUP announced after their talks today.
