PM Modi to leave for Kazakhstan for SCO summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Thursday leave for Kazakhstan's Astana for the two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit. India is set to become a full member of the SCO during the two-day summit to be held at Astana.

Prime Minister Modi will also hold bilateral talks with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev for boosting ties in the fields of trade and commerce, education, tourism and other sectors.


Briefing media in Delhi last evening, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Gopal Baglay said, "India will be benefited in trade and economic activity after it becomes a full member. He said that trade, connectivity, energy, banking and fight against terrorism are the main areas of cooperation."
