Special session of the Kerala Legislative Assembly passes a resolution against the Centre's 'unconstitutional usurpation of State rights', tweets Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan. "The Constitution espouses federalism and defines rights of Centre and States. Parliament has no right to pass laws on State subjects," the Kerala CM tweeted.

Addressing the special session of the Kerala Assembly, Vijayan said the Centres move would hurt the economy and the farmers. He said the BJP was seeking to introduce a new rule to impose the RSS' political agenda.

Vijayan had called a special session of the state assembly to discuss the Centre's notification on the sale and purchase of cattle from animal markets for slaughter.

Vijayan said that the Centre's move against cow slaughter would hurt the economy and farmers.
