SC hearing on 10-year-old rape survivor's abortion plea

The Supreme Court issues a notice to the Centre on a plea seeking permission to abort a 26-week-long foetus of a 10-year-old rape survivor. The SC fixes the plea for hearing on Friday and asks doctors to ascertain risks on the life of the victim if foetus is aborted. The court also asks member secretary of Chandigarh Legal Services Authority to get the rape survivor examined at PGI Chandigarh on Wednesday.
