Ram Nath Kovind wins Presidential poll with 7 lakh votes

Just in: Ram Nath Kovind wins the presidential poll with 2/3rd of the votes.  Kovind, who is now President elect received 65.6 per cent of the votes and is set to become India's 14th President.

Kovind's votes totalled 7,02,044 votes, while Meira Kumar, received 3,67,314.
522 MPs voted for Kovind, while 225 MPs voted for Meira Kumar. 77 votes are invalid, says the EC.

Reports say there has been cross-voting in Gujarat, Goa, Assam  and Uttar Pradesh.

The voting took place on Monday.
