Prez poll: Meira Kumar stares at defeat, not a single vote in Andhra

The first phase of the counting of votes for the presidential election ended with the resuls in favour of the ruling NDA's nominee Ram Nath Kovind over opposition's candidate Meira Kumar.
Shockingly, of the figures available in the first round, Meira Kumar has got zero votes in Andhra Pradesh. Here are the results so far:
Andhra Pradesh: Kovind 27,189; Kumar 0
Arunachal Pradesh: Kovind 448; Kumar 24
Assam: Kovind 10,556; Kumar 4,060
Bihar: Kovind 60,683; Kumar 22,951
Chhattisgarh: Kovind 6,708; Kumar 4,515
Goa: Kovind 500; Kumar 220
Gujarat: Kovind 19,404; Kumar 7,203
Haryana: Kovind 8,176; Kumar 1,792
Himachal Pradesh: Kovind 1,530; Kumar 1,887
Jammu and Kashmir: Kovind 4,032; Kumar 2,160
Jharkhand: Kovind 8,976; Kumar 4,576
Ram Nath Kovind has 4,79,585 votes while Meira Kumar has 2,04,594.
Kovind is leading by over 2 lakh votes in the first round, up from the 1 lakh votes counted earlier.
Close to 99 per cent voting was recorded for electing
India's next president. Thirty two polling stations, including the one in Parliament house, have been set up in various states. A total of 4,896 voters -- 4,120 MLAs and 776 elected MPs -- were eligible to cast their ballot. MLCs of states with legislative council are not part of the electoral college.
