Paranjoy Guha Thakurta quits as EPW editor

Senior journalist Paranjoy Guha Thakurta resigned as editor of Economic and Political Weekly on Tuesday, a report by Scroll.in said.

The report said he quit over differences with board caused by an article about the Adani group.

'Following the publication of the article, Adani Power sent a legal notice to the Economic and Political Weekly, which the organisation replied to. Both of those documents were earlier also available on the publications website but they seem to have been taken down, as also the contentious article,' the report said.

"I have indeed resigned as editor of EPW," Thakurta was quoted as saying by Scroll.in.

Though he did not comment on the reason for his resignation, Thakurta said he has stepped down with immediate effect.
