Hope I will do justice to the post, but painful to leave BJP: Naidu

-- Honored to be a candidate for the Vice President of India.

-- I have been actively engaged in public life for over four decades.

-- Office of Vice President is a different profile, has its functional norms. Hope I will be able to do justice. I am grateful to PM Modi.

-- I come from a farmer's family. I come from humble background and I have reached here with the support of the people.

-- India's strength and beauty lies in Parliamentary democratic system. It will be my endeavor to strengthen that further.

-- I don't belong to the BJP now as post is above party. (Naidu resigns from the BJP). I think I will be able to do justice to the august post; I thank all parties who have supported my candidature.

-- I want to assure all I will upheld dignity and tradition of the office.
