Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today admitted that he met with a Chinese envoy and lashed out at the Narendra Modi government.

"It is my job to be informed on critical issues. I met the Chinese Ambassador, Ex-NSA, Congress leaders from NE & the Bhutanese Ambassador,' Gandhi tweeted.

He also questioned three senior ministers of the Modi government -- Human Resource Minister Prakash Javdekar, Health Minister J P Nadda, Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma -- who traveled to China for multilateral and bilateral meetings amid the standoff at the border.

"If Govt is so concerned about me meeting an Amb, they should explain why 3Ministers are availing Chinese hospitality while the border issue is on,' Gandhi said in another tweet.

"And for the record I am not the guy sitting on the swing while a thousand Chinese troops had physically entered India,' Gandhi tweeted a picture of Modi and Chinese President Xi Jingpin on a jhoola at the Sabarmati waterfront during the Chinese leader's visit to India in 2014.
