Modi-Xi heap praise on each other at BRICS meet

PM Modi said BRICS has been a strong voice and needs to show leadership on terrorism and global economy. G20 should collectively oppose terrorism financing, franchises, safe havens, support and sponsors.

The PM also refers to GST at the meet, saying India implemented GST last week and it was India's biggest tax reform in the last 70 years. It will help businesses.

Reports also said that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Modi showered praise on each other at the BRICS meet. Xi took note of reforms in India and appreciated India's strong resolve against terrorism. China also wished India even greater economic success.

Modi said there has been positive momentum in BRICS under the chairmanship of President Xi Jinping and wished him for the upcoming BRICS Summit.
