As Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Indian cemetery in the Israeli city of Haifa today to pay homage to Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during the World War 1 while protecting the city from the powerful forces of the Ottoman Empire, here's a must-read Rediff article from September 2010, the first time a ceremony was being held to honour the Indian heroes of this battle.
