SC stays contempt proceedings against Roy

The Supreme Court stays criminal contempt proceedings against author Arundhati Roy. The case was being heard in a Nagpur court. Roy had written an article supporting GN Saibaba when Nagpur bench of Bombay HC had refused to grant Saibaba bail. Saibaba is a Delhi University professor who was sentenced to life for links with Maoists.
