Sasikala won't be Tamil Nadu CM on 29/1

Rajeev Sharma tells us: AIADMK General Secretary Sasikala Natarajan's ascendance as Tamil Nadu's chief minister will take some more time.

Her anointment as CM is unlikely to take place on Sunday, January 29, the date preferred by her.

Knowledgeable sources say the past couple of weeks have been a downer for Sasikala. It appears she may require more time to sort out the problems.

Sasikala has been facing problems from two quarters: The snowballing opposition to her candidacy for chief ministership within her party; and the Centre's attitude to her.

Chief Minister O Panneerselvam's standing has gone up in the past week after he deftly handled the Jallikattu controversy and his dealings with the Centre on the issue.
