Congress to contest all 10 seats in Amethi and Rae Bareli

The differences between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress seemed to have been ironed out after it was announced that the latter would contest all 10 assembly seats in Amethi and Rae Bareli, the Lok Sabha constituencies represented by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul.

Earlier, the two parties now in an alliance, were haggling over seats in Amethi and Rae Bareli.

The Congress, which managed to get 105 of the 403 seats under the seat-sharing deal with the SP after hard negotiations, was in no mood to give up its claim over all the ten seats in Amethi-Rae Bareli.

The leaders and ticket aspirants in Amethi and Rae Bareli had also vented their displeasure over Congress being made to play second fiddle and have also aired their strong views publicly.
