Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is addressing a rally in Majithia, Punjab where the party will be launching a mega offensive against the Badals. Rahul announced that Capt Amarinder Singh will be the next Punjab CM.

Rahul is on a three-day electioneering tour, the highlights of which will be joint public rallies with leaders Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu in Majitha, Jalalabad and Lambi. Rahul will campaign in Rampura Phul, Talwandi Sabo and Bathinda Urban, besides Majthia on Friday. Punjab will vote on February 4 and the counting will take place on March 11. Highlights...

"Whenever a farmer sees clouds (badal), he becomes happy that there will be rain and his crops will be good, but Badals don't give rain in Punjab.

"I said four years back also that 70% youth are affected by drugs. Badals made fun of me. Now whole Punjab is saying what I said. We have to fight the drug menace in Punjab, only Congress party can do it. We will make a very strong law against drugs once we come to power in Punjab. Drug peddlers will quake.

All industries are leaving Punjab and only one family is behind it.

Modi ji says he is fighting corruption. How can someone who says hes fighting the corrupt stand together with the Badals? Whole nation knows it (Akali Dal) has ruined Punjab.

People of Punjab are being looted everyday in one way or another. Congress will ensure that this money returns to the people."
