Didn't use force on crowd, says Chennai top cop on Jallikattu protests

Even as reports came in that police lathicharged Jallikattu protesters at some places today, S George, the Chennai Police Commissioner, said that his men didn't use force on the crowd.

When asked about a video circulating on social media about a cop burning an auto, the top cop responded, saying, "Videos of police surfacing on social media are morphed, it's a matter of investigation."

He added that the police will keep an overnight vigil and situation in the state is expected to improve tomorrow.
