CNN's Jeff Zeleny reports: In the days before he becomes commander-in-chief, Donald Trump has been practicing his salute, just as Barack Obama did eight years ago.

An adviser with military experience helped Trump, according to an aide, and he has been saluting a couple times in the last day.

Neither man had a military pedigree, of course, unlike many other presidents from our history.

By now, Obama has saluted countless times. But back in January 2009, saluting was a worry for him and he wanted to get it right, he told CNN at the time.
