Pune pitch rated 'poor' by ICC match referee

ICC match referee Chris Broad has given poor rating to Pune pitch where India and Australia played the opening Test of the 4-Test match series.

The BCCI has 14 days to respond.

India lost to Australia by a huge 333-run margin in the first Test failing to score even 110 runs in both innings.

Many believe India's ploy to roll out a turning track backfired on the hosts, who fell prey to Australia's left-arm spinner Steve O'Keefe.

He claimed 12 wickets, the best figures recorded by a visiting spinner on Indian soil.
