Ramjas College violence: Students demand ABVP members' arrest

Protests will on continue today after teachers, students and journalists were wounded on the Delhi University campus a day earlier in clashes over the disruption of a literary festival at the Ramjas College, allegedly by members of the ABVP.

The All India Students Association of the Delhi University has called for a joint protest with students of the Jawaharlal Nehru University at the Delhi Police headquarters at ITO. They are demanding that the arrest the ABVP members who allegedly attacked students and teachers on Wednesday.

The National Students Union of India, the student wing of the Congress, has also called for a peace march from the JNU arts faculty to the Maurice Nagar police station.

The students are demanding action against the ABVP members who had allegedly heckled and threw stones at students gathered for a seminar at a conference hall on Tuesday, where controversial JNU student Umar Khalid was invited to speak.
