All exit polls predict wins for BJP in Gujarat, Himachal

To summarise, exit polls for the Gujarat Assembly elections 2017 show the BJP holding on to Gujarat and wresting control of Himachal Pradesh from the Congress party. In Gujarat, most exit polls predict more than 100 seats for the BJP, which means a comfortable majority in the 182-seat house where the halfway mark at 92. Gujarat recorded 68.70 per cent polling in the second phase of voting today.

Himachal Pradesh registered a 74 per cent voter turnout in the single-phase polling on November 9. The Congress is currently ruling Himachal Pradesh, while BJP has been in power in Gujarat for last 22 years.

Sahara Samay-CNX survey: BJP: 42-52 seats, Congress:  18-24 seats. The halfway mark in the 68-seat Himachal Pradesh Assembly is 35 seats.
