Sandra Bullock donates $1 million to help Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Sandra Bullock has donated $1 million (Rs 6.3 crore) to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.

The actress has joined a host of Hollywood stars who have pledged money to the American Red Cross following the devastating flooding in Houston, Texas.

"I'm just grateful I can do it. We all have to do our part," Bullock said.

The American Red Cross called it an incredible gift, adding: We're so thankful.

Other celebrities including the Kardashians, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, comedian Kevin Hart and singer Jennifer Lopez have all donated.

An estimated 30,000 people have been left temporarily homeless following unprecedented flooding after a years rain fell in just a week.
