Mumbai's local train services resume, WR announces normalcy

Both Western Railway and Central Railway, which form the backbone of Mumbai's transport system, have resumed services, after a day of disruption caused by torrential rains.   

Western Railway tweeted: Local trains are running on all lines on WR. Speed restriction imposed at Matunga Rd from safety point of view. Trains running normal over all suburban lines of western Railway.

Central Railway too has resumed services, though normalcy is yet to be restored. 

It tweeted: Up and Dn services through Sion resumes slowly. Stranded trains being cleared first and then CSMT-Thane services will resume.
CST-Kalyan Special suburban train departed at 0726 hrs from CST. Further updates will follow. 
First CSMT-Panvel local on Harbour line left CSMT at 0903 hrs.   

Outstation train services too have been affected, and both the railways have announced rescheduling and cancellation of various trains.
