Nandan Nilekani made Infosys chairman

Nandan Nilekani has been named Infosys Chairman after R Seshasayee and co-chair Ravi Venkatesan quit, reports PTI.

Nilekani will be non-executive chairman of the Infosys board.

T V Mohandas Pai, a former Chief Financial Officer of the software giant, had earlier said that he expects Infosys Chairman and Co-Chairman to step down in the next few days and a new Chairman and Board to be appointed.

On August 18, the day Infosys' first non-founder CEO Vishal Sikka announced his resignation, investor advisory firm Institutional Investor Advisory Services (IiAS) said it favoured Nilekani being brought back on the board as its non-executive chairman.

Nilekani was CEO of the company between 2002 and 2007. -- PTI
