UPDATE: Railway says 4 dead, 50 injured in in Utkal derailment

Indian Railways spokesperson Anil Saxena confirms that four passengers have died in the derailment involving Utkal Express in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

Additional Director General (Law and Order) Anand Kumar said that about 50 people have been injured in the accident.

A team of UP Anti-Terrorism Squad has been sent to the spot, though there is no confirmation of the terrorism angle, Kumar said.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, meanwhile, said that he doesn't know exact number of  casualties but is in a constant touch with the railway ministry.

"Our two ministers Satish Mahana and Suresh Rana have been sent to the spot," Adityanath said.

Railway minister Suresh Prabhu tweeted, 'Spoke to UP CM requesting for rescue op, he's doing all possible, working closely with all authorities to help'. -- ANI
