Death toll in Bihar's flood rises to 153

The flood situation continued to remain grim in Bihar on Friday with

the death toll rising to 153 and number of flood afffected people increasing to 1,08, 195 lakh, an official of Bihar disaster management department said.

"The flood situation remained grim in 15 districts in Bihar," an official of the department said.

According to official release of the department, so far 153 people died due to floods. The highest number of 30 deaths are reported from Araria district followed by 23 in West Champaran district, 13 in Sitamarhi district and 11 each in Supaul, Kishanganj and East Champaraan district.

However,unconfirmed reports reaching here say the death toll due to floods is over 200.
