Sushma slams Rahul for meeting Chinese envoy

Speaking on Doklam standoff in Parliament, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj slammed Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for meeting Chinese envoy.

Without naming Rahul, Sushma said, "Instead of speaking to us one political party spoke to Chinese envoy."

Here are some highlights of her speech:

- We tried to extend a hand of friendship to Pakistan but terror and talks can't go together. We have created a roadmap of peace

- PM Modi has earned respect for the country. He has brought glory to India

- It is India's duty to protect its friends; nations which seek help from India are our friends

- We helped countries like Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal when in need. We were first to help Nepal during earthquake

- We have improved ties with neighbours. Bhutan is our dearest friend.
