Harmanpreet Kaur among 17 Arjuna Award winners

Cricketers Cheteshwar Pujara and Harmanpreet Kaur, Paralympic medallists Mariyappan Thangavelu and Varun Bhati, and golfer SSP Chawrasia among 17 Arjuna awardees this year. The Arjuna Award is awarded for outstanding performance in sports and games in the Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Cup, World Championship disciplines and Cricket. Paralympian Devendra Jhajharia and Hockey player Sardar Singh to be awarded Khel Ratna. India women's cricket captain Mithali Raj, who led the team to the final of the ICC Women's World Cup for the second time, has not been nominated for the Khel Ratna by the BCCI.
