The Central Reserve Police Force today rejected news reports that the bodies of some of its 25 personnel killed in the Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh's Sukma were mutilated.

"With all authority, I deny that any martyred jawan's body was mutilated," acting chief of the force Sudeep Lakhtakia told reporters.

According to some accounts, private parts of some of the slain personnel were mutilated by the guerrillas to "avenge" alleged rape of local women by security forces.

Altogether 25 CRPF personnel were killed and six wounded in an ambush by Naxals in Sukma district on Monday.
