Jharkhand CM announces Rs 5 lakh for kin of Sukma martyr

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today announced that the state government would give Rs five lakh to the family members of a Central Reserve Police Force jawan who was one of those killed by Maoists in Chhattisgarh.

The jawan was identified as Ashish Kumar Singh, who was from Garhwa district of Jharkhand.

The government initially announced that it would give Rs two lakh to the family but later increased the amount to Rs five lakh, an official release said. -- PTI
