Narada case: CBI books top Trinamool leaders

The Central Bureau of Investigation registers first information reports against 13 persons -- including Trinamool Congress leaders Madan Mitra, Mukul Roy and Saugata Roy -- among others in Narada sting operation case.

Others named in the FIR are: Sultan Ahmed, Iqbal Ahmed, Kakoli Ghosh, Prasun Banerjee, Suvendu Adhikari Sovan Chatterjee, Subrata Mukherjee, Firhad Hakim, Aparupa Poddar and serving Indian Police Service officer Syed Md Hussain Meerza.

Earlier on March 17, the Calcutta High Court had ordered CBI to conduct a preliminary inquiry in the case in which several leaders of the ruling party in West Bengal were seen purportedly seen taking money. -- ANI
