The government on Dalai Lama's visit to Arunachal Pradesh: The Dalai Lama is deeply respected by the Indian people. No additional colours should be ascribed to his visit. No artificial controversy should be centered around his visit. His visit is purely religious in nature and there should be no political angle given to it," said Union Minister Kiren Rijiju today.

The Tibetan Spritual leader has rescheduled his trip to Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang due to bad weather conditions in the Himalayan region.

The Tibetan Spiritual lead was set to leave Guwahati by a chopper, but the inclement weather has forced him to travel by road and change his stop to Bomdila, where he will make a public appearance tomorrow.

China has warned India that the proposed visit of the Dalai Lama to Arunachal Pradesh would cause "deep damage" to Sino-Indian ties, and stressed that New Delhi would have to make "a choice" in its dealings with the Tibetan spiritual leader.

The Tibetan spiritual leader has said that China's reaction was normal. "No problem. It's normal," he said when asked about China's objection to his visit to the northeast state.

Rijiju added that Arunachal Pradesh was a part of India, Dalai Lama's visit cannot be restricted.

He also said that India respects 'one-China' policy and it also expect China's reciprocal attitude.
