Although superstar Rajinikanth has said several times that he has no political ambition, his fans have not given up their demand.

On Sunday, several of his fans assembled at Raghvendra Mandapam in Chennai to urge the superstar to join politics.

Only the district president, secretary and treasurer of his fans' association were allowed into the hall. The rest shouted slogans outside.

They asked the 'Thalaiva' to 'save Tamil Nadu', and a few more ambitious ones asked him to 'save India'.

They have already designed a tri-coloured flag with Rajinikanth's face at the centre. -- A Ganesh Nadar/Rediff.com from Chennai
