If you've just joined us, the Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on the LoC last night. The surgical strikes were carried out against three terrorist launchpads along the Line of Control last night. The President, J-K CM, former PM Manmohan Singh have been briefed about the strikes. 


DGMO Lt Gen Ranbir Singh in a joint press conference held with the MEA said, "I spoke to the Pak DGMO, shared our concerns and told him that we conducted surgical strikes last night. During this counter terrorist operation, significant causalities have been caused to terrorists and those who are trying to support them. The operation is aimed at neutralising the terrorists. We expect Pakistan Army to help us wipe out the terrorists," the DGMO said.


Lt General Singh said there were major casualties among the terrorists, who he said were planning attacks on major Indian metro cities including Srinagar.
