The family of soldier SK Vidyarthi, who was killed in the Uri attack of September 18, hailed the surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army along the LoC in Pakistan on Thursday.

"Really happy that the Indian Army took the initiative and conducted these strikes," Vidyarthi's daughter Aarti told reporters.

"This (surgical strike) is very good, but we would have been happier had it been done before," said Vidyarthi's wife. The Uri martyr's family lives in Gaya district of Bihar.
