Uri attack: Home Secy Rajiv Mehrishi heads to Kashmir

Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi is on his way to Srinagar today to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the terror attack in Uri.

Following a directive of Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Mehrishi will visit Srinagar and attend a series of meetings with officials of the state government, army, police and paramilitary force and take stock of the situation in the state, official sources said.

The Union Home Secretary is also expected to meet Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and discuss with them the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
