Centre submits report on status of judges' appointment

Centre has submitted its report on status of judges appointment in the Supreme Court, with the Attorney General saying 'there is no logjam'.

"We have been working on judges appointments. There is no blame game, no logjam in the system of appointing judges for higher judiciary. Progress has been made," Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi told SC.

"Vacancies pending in the high courts since 2007; it is alarming in the oldest HC in Allahabad," the AG told the apex court, giving two sets of sealed envelopes with facts on judges' appointment.

He said it's a race, if you start in time you reach in time.
