Air Chief meets defence minister, armed forces to accept 7th Pay Commission salaries

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha met Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar following Parrikar asking the defence service chiefs to implement the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations despite their genuine objections.

Armed forces have agreed to accept the Seventh Pay Commission salaries while the government will still be working towards addressing anomalies.

In a statement, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha Chairman said, "The 7th Pay Commission anomalies in respect of the Armed Forces were discussed with the Honble Raksha Mantri in detail by the service chiefs and the members of the Armed Forces Pay Commission Cell. The Honble Raksha Mantri is seized of all the issues and has assured to resolve them at the earliest. The Services are satisfied with the response."
