AAP rejects Amanatullah Khan's resignation, says its family dispute

Aam Aadmi Party has refused to accept the resignation of Waqf Board chief Amanatullah Khan.

The AAP MLA from Okhla had resigned from all posts on Saturday, saying that while he was trying to work, he and his family were being dragged into unnecessary controversies.

Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said: "We have checked the facts of a complaint against Khan, made by his brother in-law's ex-wife.

His brother in-law and his wife separated about four years back and Khan has had no contact with her. This seems to be a family dispute into which Khan's name is being dragged.

While we will not spare anyone if they are caught indulging in any wrongdoing, we will also stand by our people if we think they are being harassed. I have spoken to the CM and other senior party members about this and have decided to not accept his resignation," Sisodia said.
