ULFA releases kidnapped Assam BJP leader's son

The outlawed ULFA-Independent on Friday released Assam BJP panchayat leader's son, Kuldip Moran at the Indo-Myanmar border in Arunachal Pradesh. 

He was abducted on August 1 and the rebels had demanded Rs 1 cr ransom. 

ULFA leader Paresh Baruah had said Kuldip has been not been abducted for ransom but to stand 'trial' for passing on information to the Army which resulted in the killing of several cadres of the outfit in encounters.

Kuldip's father Ratneswar Moran, who is the vice-president of Tinsukia district panchayat, had said the rebels demanded Rs 1 crore for releasing his son.
