Focus on work, don't worry about top-level changes, Tata tells execs

In his first communication to top executives of Tata group firms since returning as interim chairman on Monday, Ratan Tata today told them that his appointment is for the short-term, and that a new leadership will be in place soon.

"I have assumed the role of interim chairman for stability and continuity so that there is no vacuum."

Tata also called on leaders of group companies to focus on their businesses without being concerned about the change in top leadership.

"Act as leaders in respective markets and focus on enhancing returns to shareholders," Tata has told the top executives of group firms.
