1 terrorist killed, 3 civilians injured as Pak violates ceasefire in Kupwara

Encounter underway in Kupwara district of J&K between forces and militants. One militant killed in the ongoing encounter that is taking place at Kawari Warnow area of Kupwara. Search ops are underway.
Three civilians of RS Pura has also been injured in the ceasefire violations even as firing continues.


A Border Security Force soldier died and another was injured as Pakistan Rangers violeted ceasefire twice on Sunday night in R S Pura sector of international border (IB), using mortar shells and firing small arms.

Head constable Sushil Kumar was hit by a splinter in his chest while retaliating the Pakistan fire. He was administered first aid and evacuated to Government medical college and hospital in Jammu. He succembed to his injuries at 12.30am on Monday, said Dharmender Pareekh, BSF Jammu frontier DIG. 

Assistan sub-inspector RD Puri was also injured in the exhange of fire.

Earlier on Sunday evening, Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the IB, as Pakistani Rangers used small arm fire to target Indian posts, which was not retaliated by the BSF.

Sundays ceasefire violation came within hours of warning by additional director general, BSF, Arun Kumar that Pakistan will have to face dire consequences if any BSF Jawan was targeted.
