FIR against Bhubaneswar hospital for fire tragedy

Police on Tuesday filed an FIR against Bhubaneswar's SUM hospital after 22 people died in a major fire on Monday evening.

Earlier, three contract-based electricians working for hospital were suspended. They were on the shift the night of the tragedy and were responsible for handling the power supply.

This development comes after Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who visited the Capital Hospital, where most of the injured were brought in, ordered a probe into the incident.

The Odisha government has formed a three member committee under a revenue divisional commissioner to probe the matter.
