The Bharatiya Janata Party will join the Peoples Party of Arunachal government in Arunachal Pradesh led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Arunachal BJP president Tapir Gao has confirmed that party MLA Tamiyo Taga will be inducted into the Khandu government as a minister,

Last month, Khandu, along with 43 MLAs, had defected the Congress to join the PPA, the lone regional party of the state.

He said it was in the interest of the state and the people.

The exodus of MLAs came two months after Khandu was sworn-in as the new Congress chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, following the partys dramatic success in winning back all its rebels, marking the culmination of fast-paced political developments.

Former Arunachal CM Nabam Tuki had to step down to make way for Khandu as this enabled the Congress winning back the support of rebel MLAs.
