Paris climate pact to enter into force in 30 days: UN

The landmark Paris climate deal, ratified so far by 72 countries accounting for more than 56 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, will enter into force in 30 days, the UN's climate body said Wednesday.

"On October 5, 2016, the threshold for entry into force of the Paris Agreement has been achieved," the UNFCCC announced on its website.
