5 days after grand Reddy wedding, I-T surveys on vendors

NDTV reports: Five days after the extravagant wedding of Karnataka politician and mining tycoon Gali Janardhan Reddy's daughter in Bengaluru, the Income Tax department surveyed vendors involved in it.

The tax department is carrying out surveys in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Last Wednesday, around 50,000 guests attended the wedding, which has been widely criticized as outrageous at a time a currency ban has left millions facing a cash crunch.

Brazilian dancers, helium balloons with the Reddys' images and mini-villages featured in the multi-crore wedding that began with invitations with LCD screens.
