Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu is keen to replace Hameed Ansari. Yes, as both the chairman of the Rajya Sabha and Vice President of India.

That aside, Naidu has always been very quick, yet measured with his ripostes in Parliament.

On Thursday it was Naidu who objected to Congress senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad comparing the deaths in the Uri terror attacks to those who died cash crunch crisis. Naidu claims he is the only tall leader and senior in the BJP from southern India. If the President of India is from the north, then it is courtesy that south India should get representation. That's probably the reason Naidu is seen as an alert  parliamentarian. He knows he is being watched.
