CIC orders release of docus on Machhil and Pathribal killings

The Indian Army has been told by the Central Information Commission to provide a copy of the findings of the court martial and subsequent conviction of five Army men in the Macchil killings of 2010, and proceedings of the court of inquiry into the killing of five persons in Pathribal, in 2000, reports livelaw.in.

Both the incidents happened in Jammu and Kashmir.

The CIC order was passed on an appeal by Venkatesh Nayak, whose RTI plea in the matter was rejected by the CPIO under Section 8(1)(h) of the RTI Act.
