Don't hoard cash, come to banks only when you need it: RBI

Assuring people that enough cash in small denominations available at banks, the Reserve Bank of India has asked people not to draw cash to hoard.

'We urge that public need not be anxious; need not come over to banks repeatedly to draw and hoard. Cash is available when they need it,' the RBI said.

There was no let up in the rush for exchanging demonetised notes and withdrawing money with many people spending their Sunday queuing up outside banks and ATMs since early morning hours, even as some of the outlets were shut after being short on cash.
