Delhi gets rains, Met office predicts thunderstorm today

Delhiites woke up to a rainy morning today with the national capital region witnessing sporadic rainfall and strong winds throughout the night which led to water-logging in several parts of the city. 

Safdarjung observatory, which gives the official reading for the city, showed 4.9 mm rainfall till 8.30 am while areas under Lodhi Road, Palam, Ridge and Aayanagar recorded 9.5 mm, 9.5 mm, 5.8 mm and 14 mm rainfall respectively during the same period, said a Met department official. 

Traffic snarls due to water logging were reported from some parts of the city.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average, the official said.

Humidity was recorded as 98 per cent at 8.30 am. The Met office has predicted light rains and thunderstorm accompanied by squall for today.
